Jeremy Dyen Presents

Onswitch, while certainly not the first of Jeremy's recordings, is Jeremy's first full-length release as a solo artist and as a producer. And though he's mainly a keyboardist, Jeremy performed on all instruments, engineered and produced the entire cd. All songs are written by Jeremy save for Bye Bye Blue which was written by Jonathan Cole.
Moods shift throughout, from the soft contemplations of Now, (the opening track) and Onswitch (the title track) to the thickness of All My Friends Tell Me Not To Have A Worry In The World or the dreamy Bye Bye Blue. Even in the heavier, distorted moments, Onswitch remains melodic, certainly sonically creative, and often soulful, as in Kings and Queens.

Soul Collapse is Jeremy's second solo release, and is quite different from Onswitch. First of all, this is an instrumental cd, save for a sprinkle of sparse vocals on "Rubber Knee" and "Take Me Down My Pilot" (hidden). Jeremy dives into electronic depths, but not without his strong sense of musicality (all tracks), jazzy riffs (All It Took Was One Bike Ride, Rubber Kneeeee and Walking Two Inches Above the Ground), compositional twists (Invention One and a Half, In Sink (the other pot) and The Passion of Bill), organic touch (In Sink, Rubber Kneeee and Puff) and sense of humour (The Passion of Bill, In Sink, Invention One and a Half, No, Try Again).
You can hear homage to Squarepusher, Aphex Twin and DJ Shadow On Soul Collapse, but Jeremy remains himself in this adventurous mix, just as his predecessors did.

Battery, Jeremy's forthcoming solo cd, is more related to Onswitch than Soul Collapse, in that it is vocal/song oriented. However, unlike Onswitch, Jeremy strips away layers a bit, using much simpler instrumentation, often using just vocals, acoustic guitar and percussion, with occasional piano. He draws influence from Brazilan and Indian rhythm and percussion, but maintains his own, unique song style, which is always earthy, thoughtful and often soulful.
